Froth

How do you address the heartache of repetitious comments? How does one quell hyperbolic, bombastic touting of the same securities over and over? What can you do to temper a mix of English and Spanish comments? Yes, it's....

Sorry for the very late posting tonight. Long story. While up here in the (relative) wilderness, I was struck by this sign:

The Dow, although up, still didn't signal a break yet. We're still in this flag pattern.

Gold has had a very strong past couple of days, but it also is at the upper reaches of a well-established range.

I've been mentioned BEAS as a short for a couple of weeks now. It has a nice, clean stop at $14.20.

Sotheby's (BID), which I've succesfully shorted before, might have a nice double top here.

Honeywell might have registered a triple top. All these "mights" and "maybes" are annoying, I'm sure, but it's never clear until some time has passed. These are calculated risks.

Martin Marietta (MLM) is awfully lofty and seems to be losing its momentum at these heights.

On the bullish side, I mentioned SCHN back on April 14th when the stock was $46. It has had a strong run since then, with a particularly strong surge upward today.

Another old favorite, Taser (TASR) seems to have found its second life. It has run up a bit much for me to be interested now, but a pullback to its breakout would make this an interesting buy.

SWC run up 7.2% today, a very nice rally. You guys should have paid attention when I meantioned it yesterday.

The fundamentals of SWC lies on the metal palladium, which is super bullish. I believe you can reasonably expect a 20 fold return in 3 to 4 years. Read articles on my blog to learn about the bullish fundamental of palladium, then draw your own conclusion.

The chart certainly look very convincing.

Thanks Tim.

Did you take the bear pic with your iphone?

i was starting to go through slope of hope withdrawls! even though everything was laced with "mights", at least it was a post...*smile*

i guess a good thing to do on mlm would be to see if it breaks below that hammer around 156. anybody have any thoughts on that?

jj2000426,
please don't be another Beanie, all you two are doing is touting strong stocks in a bull market. They go up, and you both think your some kind of F'ing geniuses. I'll bet neither of you two have the balls to actually have significant positions in these stocks you tout. I like reading this blog, quit pushing yall's dumbass sites and tell us how you are betting and what you plan to do, that is much more interesting.

and by the way, SWC is way below its highs while many stocks are making new highs, indicating relative weakness. Honestly, you might as well forget your "super bullish" reasoning because the market doesn't agree with you and I strongly doubt that you are smarter than the vote of the market.

I think AAPL is going to be falling for awhile, cause they lowered the price on the Iphone...I think by a $100...

And AZO and ESI maybe ...all these maybe’s might have topped out....and beannies has reason to celebrate....
beannie told everyone to buy TSL 45 calls at 2.25 ( i also put in my 2 cents to buy them....at his blog...)
and today they topped at $2200...up ten fold....these kinds of profits happen all the time...beannie has the hottest comment section in the blog universe...

Actually AAPL is creating an Iphone Nano. They're not lowering the price of the Iphone. That wouldn't make sense as they sold out on like the first or second day.

dudes,

the futures are down. but i suspect there will be one more push to the upside. only after the dip-buying is not working, the before-earning buying is not working, the market will keep drifting higher and higher, until there is something that triggers the downside and all the day popup efforts fail.

Not unless alot has changed. I was over there a few weeks back and its a joke in the comments. Bunch of bullshit postings of what they "did", all the "$ they made, insults back and forth, A couple of legit posters but ALOT of wasteful posts as well.

But as I said a week or so ago, beanie may be annoying, but his call on solars was spot on. I wish I had played the TSL calls. I should have after making a meager profit in FSLR , only to see it more than double yesterday from where I bought at.

Tim Knight said...

Wow, that Beano is effective!

Or does he only post when solar stocks are up? Hmmmm.

Kinda useless when the only time a person has anything to say is when there's something positive to report ex post facto. I don't have that luxury!

Z - it was Sony lowering the price of PS3 by 100 bucks.

AAPL still has long legs for now.

Despite what the market does, solar stocks remain absolutely strong. This tells ya alot. It's the place you want to be. I kid you not.

I've been pushing solars for 2 months now, almost every single day. Most have already doubled and will continue to double within 3-6 months.

Solar flare!!!

dudes,

following yesterday's disclosure: my OEX july 700 and 695 puts spreads widened to 1.85 and I gladly took the profits of 70%.

It is time to cover your shorts boys.

Beanie--it's worth noting that solar stocks do well when oil goes up. The real test will be when oil goes down do the solars stay up. I never see CSIQ mentioned. I owned that a small while ago. I picked up a quick 30% on it (4 days or so). I've not waded back in.

I did pick up some DEPO today in it's landslide. Was actually up 8+% and then it settled back to my purchase price.

Cover your shorts if the Asian markets take this in stride. Otherwise, hold onto your shorts or anything else that gives you comfort.

I re-entered my PSB short two days ago- my decision based purely the slope of hope...looks very promising. Might be making a short move on FSLR...still sitting on the sidelines though. 8.3 billion in market cap? 2 billion alone monday morning, because of an announcement that there is a 1.3 billion dollar contract for the next (5 yrs!). You would have thought with all the prior speculation that might be priced into the stock! The chinese must be trading this.
