The JesusPhone Arrives

Today must be Steve Jobs Day, since both the iPhone and Ratatouille make their introductions. That can't be an accident.

I've never done this before, but here's a Slope of Hope Original Video for you that I just put together. Enjoy:

I just dont' get it. What's up w. waiting in line just to get something first? What's the cache in owning something a week before someone else?

That's time lost, never recovered. Crazy.

Dude,

These guys aren't exactly popular. They are still healing scars suffered during junior high gym class.

I guess you just have to live here to understand. Not to say that the entire world isn't filled with people queuing up to be the first for a Harry Potter novel, or a Star Wars movie, or the first copy of Windows 95, or whatever.

Great video !I'm getting a sense you would would make a great replacement for Andy Rooney on 60 minutes when he can't come in anymore.( should be any day now )
Be sure and give us an update video from the celebration gala at the JOBS compound tonight. You'll be there ...right ?

Oh my God, a non-hateful comment from cantdrive55! Incredible!

I don't think I'd be welcome at the Jobs compound. And it's less compound-y than you would think. There are a lot of middle class people in the country that live in just as nice a house.

Well, you're there,I"m not. I'll take your word for it. It's nice to hear another billionaire besides Buffett, does'nt HAVE to live in the most opulent home in town.I hope the "out of towners" give him his space....but for right now, he is probably the most famous person on the planet. He might even have Parisite Hilton beat for a little while.
Wow, Dow INDU down almost 90. Hyde Park/London?
This is the kind of day you love to write your post, isn't it ?

I know there are geeks, and they're everywhere (not just in Palo Alto, we've got the same phenomena going on out here in Flyover), I just don't see the utility.

There's gotta be some disappointment once it's all over and done...

_______________

And as for the "Non-nasty comment" comment... you might want to sharpen your on-line irony ear...

A scosh.

What, is there an asshole union, and you can't stand one of your own leaving the ranks?

Face it, 99% of people like me. So you're a freak.

How close is apple TV? This phone thing is just a quick fad. It won't be long and every phone manufacturer will copy and add even more features and benefits. However, I have to give it to Apple for inventing the orginal. As with any company price is determined by forward ideas, products, and ingenuity. This will be a huge success out of the box - THEN WHAT??? Disclosure Short Apple 130 - 140 Call spreads.

Considering they invented the Mac, then the iPod, and now the iPhone, I surmise they will come up with more.
In fact, I've wagerd quite some money on that...

Guess you didn't see that one of the Korean electronic manufacturers had a phone that looked almost like the iPhone with similar features on the market in Asia at the time of the Apple announcement. There was a lawsuit, which apparently was settled--I wasn't interested enough to follow the story.

Anyhow, the Mac operating system was simply a knock off of something Xerox has in the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)...Same story, earlier verse.

"Anyhow, the Mac operating system was simply a knock off of something Xerox has in the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)"

Correction, they got the idea for a decent GUI form Xerox. The OS (nowadays) is based on Unix.
BUT, Xerox invented a lot of things (Copier, GUI, fax, even the computer virus) but only managed to make a success of one of those things (guess which one). They botched all the rest.
The genius of Apple is taking an idea and successfully transforming it into a commercially viable product.
And please...the Koreans make great hardware but the software is at best questionable.

Rumor is the next big thing will be the iGlasses -3D, variable penetration xray, HD downloadable movies, safe inpenetrable mobile trading platform , itune player , and of course voice activated features. All for only 199 US plus applicable subscription fees. On a separate note , will todays weakness be carried into Monday

LMAO VIC! iphone a fad? i don't think so. i have a sandisk mp3 player because i thought the ipod was just a glorified walkman. but the iphone is only the beginning......i didn't buy an ipod - and i wont - but if they keyboard works like a RIMM - i'll have an iphone, but i'm gonna wait til it has more memory.

nice vid tim

how about that reversal?! didn't break 1490 like i'm hopin but, the odds are better after today's failure.

i mean bonds were rallying all day today - and stocks didn't follow? was up wit dat?

full disclosure - i'm a bull - i want a pullback, cause i sold out my longs and want to get in - but i have no problem buyin a breakout on all the indexes

I unloaded all my long position today morning before 12AM. I'm all cash now and looking for little pull back on monday OR if QQQQ reaches 47.80 then I might short again.

Happy Weekend.

Tim, cover, were headed to highs in all three indexes, then, the "big" decline this fall. Sammy.

Actually Philippe, it would probably be more accurate to call OSX the bastard child borne from an orgy between MacOs, NextStep and FreeBSD. I heard that maybe BeOS made an appearance at that party too, but who's to say.

Hey Tim. You are buying an iPhone AND shorting Apple?

Did you read that Steve Wozniak was lining up to get one in Valley Fair? You think Jobs would at least give him one without making him wait in line. :^)

Thanks for the video. I think next time you should add some of that great wit from your blog postings into it though.

WTF did I do to deserver THIS comment, you pompous asshat?

You really DO need to attune your stylistic ear.

Read back what I wrote... Drive 55 was tooling you, jackass, I was only pointing it out.

Thanks for nuttin' Danny!
